I usually don't like the term "virtue signalling", but that's exactly what the Twitter exodus was. A performative action that caused confusion and chaos, and had zero actual tangible demonstrable benefits. But a lot of folks got to feel smug and superior, so mission accomplished, I guess.

One of the most frustrating online interactions to witness is someone asking for help with something, explaining why they're unable to do it for themselves the normal way most people would, and the first responses are always "do it the normal way most people would".

The Bible not only "condones" slavery, it outright *commands* it, and also orders slaves to be good servants if their master is Christian. Modern apologists attempting to defend biblical slavery end up having to say some really weird and gross things.

Normalization of murder is only okay if the state does it.
I'm thinking a lot about how Big Important People and Pundits are saying that we don't kill people in cold blood over differences of opinion on healthcare policy & wondering if they know that we actually do kill people for jumping the turnstile in the subway. In the very same city.
Re that hit job in NYC:
1. Murder is always bad
2. I understand & in fact share the wails of agony around American healthcare that exploded in the wake of that murder
