A reminder to elites who can’t be arsed to care about others: Strong social policy is in your best interest… Desperate, downtrodden, and dismissed peoples have proven themselves—time and again—to be capable of extraordinary violence.

Social safety nets work both ways.

Just to echo what @matthewstiegler.bsky.social has said below in a different key: there is a way in which what the Court has just done (and what it did with the stay in the SB8 case a few years ago) is lawless in a lawyerly sense. The law *now* is, apparently what the Court *will* do. (1/3)
Congress passed a fucking law. The Supreme Court affirmed its constitutionality.

This lawless majority hasn't ruled that the law is unconsitutional. It has not overruled its precedent.

But these hacks are so eager to impose their will that they couldn't wait. So they didn't.
And how convenient that the Court doesn't have to wait for lower court proceedings, or even for briefing and argument. This majority bequeathes itself the power to just make everyone obey now.

Okay folks. Maybe this is a generational thing…

But when did the past tense of costs go from "cost" to "costed"? I've heard at least a dozen younger influencers use "costed" this week, on their reels.

Which do you use? Cost? Or costed?

Charlie deserves: To be thoroughly reviled for his works and words; his legacy dismantled.

Charlie’s family and friends deserve: A privately funded funeral, far from the spotlight, where they can begin the hard work of reordering their lives in the wake of Kirk’s assassination.

Electric motors are near silent, which EV makers ID’d as a threat to pedestrians. So each created a soundtrack of sorts for their brand of EV’s, ensuring they’d be heard. But something was off…

So the folks over at ⁦‪UDOT‬⁩ want us to take their urban mobility survey (I did; you should, too). And it's a total hack job.

⁦‪SLC Transportation‬⁩: Y'all need to do a proper survey to counter the "data" this survey is going to generate.

It's just remarkable that the president of the United States is running an extortion racket in broad daylight and not only is the nation apparently unable to stop it, hardly anyone will even call it what it obviously is.

If evidence existed of nukes, it would’ve been easy for a GOP President to convince a GOP Congress to authorize force.

We’ll never know if evidence existed, but now we’re at war with a country that never attacked us right next door to the last war we fought against a country that never attack us.

Hey, peeps… This Saturday is NO KINGS DAY!

Use the linked map to find a protest near you. Show up and be counted. Bad things are happening and your voice is needed.

Silence is complicity.

I keep hearing about folks in positions of power resigning in protest.

We need to remind folks that they don’t make movies about the guy who bravely resigned. Schindler’s list wasn’t for groceries.

Stay. Fight. Force them to FIRE you. Resigning makes their job easier.
