50 new BikeBunkers to offer secure parking for Dublin residents without access to sheds
BikeBunkers, Dublin City Council's on-street bicycle lockers for residents without secure places to lock their bicycles, are being rolled out with the first 50 of a planned around 300 units being put on the streets of the capital in the near future. A number of BikeBunkers are already in place as part of a trial. Now, the first 50 new bike locker units are being assembled and installed by Bleeper, the bike share company which runs the BikeBunkers system for Dublin City Council.

BikeBunkers are on-street lockers provided in areas, such as those with terraced houses or apartments, where there is no access to bicycle storage.

When the pin is in, it prevents the gate from swinging open.
The pin can't be removed out of the gate, to avoid loss of the slide bolt.

A cargo bike share scheme, which is being run as a pilot project by bike hire company Bleeper for Dublin City Council's Beta Projects, has been expanded to Stoneybatter. The new location in Stoneybatter is on Manor Place, opposite Kerala Kitchen. The cargo bike rental costs €1 per 15 minutes of use, which is capped at €25 per day. Bleeper said: "We're excited to announce the new shared cargo bike in Stoneybatter!
