Why were there so many sculptures (36 marbles and 16 bronzes) in the Antikythera wreck (70-50 BCE)? A great new, open access article by Brian Martens for ABSA argues they were for a gymnasion. www.cambridge.org/core/journal... A really interesting take 125 years after this monumental discovery.

Great example. I’ve often heard people say they believe medieval people discouraged or punished female literacy, whereas Mary is usually shown reading during the Annunciation, so every medieval person constantly saw images of the #1 female role model reading. The anti-learning Middle Ages is a myth.

The range increments of a full subway sandwich are only 10/20 so you have disadvantage on your throw more than a few paces away. You can double the range with a half-sandwich wrapped tightly and druis have a fifth-level subclass feature that removes disadvantage if the sandwich has sprouts
It's not in this article but the government asserts that the sandwich was thrown at "point blank range", which implies subway sandwiches have defined effective weapon ranges of varying lethality, and I would like to see the government's chart of these ranges.
