It’s hard to fathom the tragedy of another Kennedy-this time Tatiana Schlossberg-dying at such a relatively young age

But it’s unimaginable to comprehend what she felt, while cancer was stealing her life, as she watched her cousin cut research that might’ve saved other victims of malignant diseases
"As I spent more and more of my life under the care of doctors, nurses, and researchers striving to improve the lives of others, I watched as Bobby cut nearly a half billion dollars for research into mRNA vaccines, technology that could be used against certain cancers”

If you watch the deposition of Jack Smith, you'll conclude as a matter of necessity that Donald Trump should be in a federal prison right now rather than the White House. He's only living outside a cage due to dumb luck. And all of us are paying the price.

The "But did he MEAN it?" talk about Trump drives me mad. I'm sure the question of whether he is an actual murderous dictator or merely a paranoid rageaholic screaming into TruthSocial will make for a good "Interesting Times with Ross Douthat" or ten, but both are disqualifying, so why split hairs?

Congrats to everyone who put Republicans in charge "for the economy," the first three quarters of 2025 already had more layoffs than any of the years in which Biden or Obama was President except 2009 (when Dems were still cleaning up the prior Republican mess).

We have gotten the whole Jimmy Kimmel imbroglio wrong.

Desperately wrong.
Jimmy Kimmel Said Nothing Wrong. Mostly Because He Didn’t Say What MAGAs Claim.
The Kimmel scandal isn’t about Kimmel—it’s about Trump’s FCC capo Brendan Carr threatening Disney into axing an employee whose conduct Disney had no issue with. But it’s also not about Kimmel’s words.

Has anyone seen any evidence Kirk had a moral compass? I've been watching clips of Kirk since he died—clips posted by people on the left and clips posted by people on the right—and I can't detect anything I'd refer to as a moral compass.

He sounds like a used car salesman for Christian nationalism.

It’s negative posturing and redneck macho bullshit on the highest order. “The War Department” implies aggression, which of course is exactly the point from this fascist regime. Eisenhower (not exactly a pacifist considering WWII) knew what he was doing when he changed the name.

As a big fan of the Willy Vlautin novel that is the source material, really looking forward to this
"It’s beautifully constructed and executed, with a lead character who reveals new biographical and emotional layers to us with each new scene, and a backup cast stocked with small-scale underworld types." -- on Netflix starting today, and well worth watching

If we want to knock out crime in DC, we need to start at the Top.

This isn’t about street crime (which in DC is at a 30 year low), or poor ole “Big Balls” getting “jumped” by 2 unarmed teenagers. This is to further insulate himself for when he calls off future elections and crowns himself King.
Open your eyes, do the math, follow the money. It’s getting dark.
