Unlike two weeks ago my road bike did not disintegrate while prepping for a group ride so I can actually ride with people tomorrow

Today East Bay Assemblymember Bauer-Kahan introduced the "E-Bike Accountability Act", proposing mandatory registrations & license plates for all Class 2 & 3 e-bikes.

Say NO to Mandatory E-Bike License Plates and Registrations - Bike East Bay
Tell the state legislature that increased regulation on legal e-bikes is counter-productive to traffic safety, sustainability, and equity goals.

Rode it to work today, other than being a bit bored holding power down to “no shower required” levels it was a good reminder that cycling to work is so much better than driving
Turns out I’m just an idiot, we are commute-ready

Found an old masterlock combination lock to use at work tomorrow so I don't have to keep smelly bike stuff at my desk and I enjoy that the muscle memory from high school of the proper opening sequence is still burned into my brain

My mission for tonight is to install a rack onto my bike, good thing the instructions are completely inscrutable

Why is a paper move with no actual impact on the player good for anybody

The amount of hometown discounts he has taken is pretty wild
Dodgers say they extended Max Muncy. It’s a $7 million extension for 2027, with a $10 million club option for 2028.

If we count people who attended but did not graduate, it's Charles Lindbergh by a lot

My first contact sheets stunk because the roll of film itself stunk, but it did make me happy that such a resource exists near me. Homework is to make a second contact sheet at some point this weekend and that roll looks a lot better.

A side benefit of staying in the east bay and movng further north is that I could get way into the Oakland Ballers next year
Told some friends down here about how I’m thinking about alameda as a possible living destination and the response among people who know both me and the Bay Area is that I should do it if I can stomach the commute. That’s such a big “if” though

Excellent
@JeffPassan tweeted
Right-handed reliever Evan Phillips and the Los Angeles Dodgers are in agreement on a one-year, $6.5 million contract. Phillips, 31, is coming off Tommy John surgery and is expected to return around July.

People shitting on a baseball player for waiting to have surgery as if another baseball player didn’t die from routine surgery complications YESTERDAY

Rode my bike (indoors) for an hour then developed a roll of film tonight. Very stereotypical night for me. Tomorrow is darkroom class, we're learning how to make contact sheets with an enlarger which I think will be fun

As somebody who likes sports like cycling where the participants all look miserable, I must tip my hat to cross-country skiing for ruling the sports world in that regard

Mendocino to Carmel in 3 hours is an average of 90mph through windy coastal roads and the heart of San Francisco
Found it and my bad the ai suggested Santa Monica Beach and Griffith in the same day, while suggesting Morro Bay to Universal would take less than 3 hours

You will not get me to feel sentimental about a Verlander retirement tour. Hope he gets lit up and cut.

I had a really good time with the new bike last weekend. I’d say I “get” gravel a little more than before, turns out having a tool more purpose-built helps, lol. I still find it a bit stressful due to being pretty bad at it and risk-adverse. Probably worth exploring more.

Guy must REALLY want to stay in MLB. Which is funny given how his history basically includes self-inflicted decisions which prevented him from being able to play here in his prime

This is the GOP. Let's create a thought police to round up Bad Bunny fans. Pathetic.

Good lord this is horrifying. Sounds like it’s already dead but pointlessly cruel stuff like this has had a habit of catching on lately www.cyclingweekly.com/news/the-mos...
'The most anti-biking bill in history' — Iowa’s near-total bike ban proposal is bizarre and alarming
Advocates say the bill, framed as a safety measure, would "functionally and explicitly ban biking on most of Iowa’s roadways"

Most of my friends living five hours away means I frequently make dumb decisions like “oh I can just drive home after work” and regret it immediately after departing
