In a note to Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, President Donald Trump blamed Norway for not awarding him with the Nobel Peace Prize and linked that with his interest in obtaining "complete and total control of Greenland."

Pew Research Institute (2023):

• Red State Texas has about 2.1 million undocumented immigrants

• Red State Florida has 1.6 M undocumented immigrants

• Blue State Minnesota has 130,000.

And yet only Minnesota is being occupied by masked thugs over "immigration."

It's *not* about immigration.

Apparently the State Department, led Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the nation's top diplomat, released a strategic plan. Goal 1 is U.S. National Sovereignty. Goal 2 is "The Western Hemisphere and Establishment of the Donroe Doctrine."

There's more, but take that in.

The Agency Strategic Plan sets forth the vision and direction for how the Department will implement U.S. foreign policy and foreign assistance.

This is an answer nobody would ever accept from a democrat. A democrat who gave this answer would be ruthlessly mocked until the end of time. Yet Trump and Republicans get away with it without so much as a follow-up.
Q: Can you explain how your healthcare plan will affect premiums?

TRUMP: It's a tremendous thing. It's called the great healthcare plan. And we're gonna get tremendous, uh, reductions through, uh, if you look at prescription drugs, they're gonna come down by numbers that have never been seen before

One of the stories that makes me the saddest out of this ICE invasion is one out of the Minnesota Star Tribune today about ICE agents eating at a little Mexican restaurant in the small town of Willmar, Minn, —and then, when they were done, arresting some of the workers.

Just so people outside of MN know - a lot of the US citizens getting “arrested” by ICE never get processed at Whipple. They are roughed up during the arrest and then often dropped off miles from where they were picked up. It means we don’t know the true scale of what ICE is doing based on ICE stats

There is no independently verifiable, publicly released evidence showing that the agent suffered the injuries being claimed. U.S. Department of Homeland Security officials have stated that the ICE agent, Jonathan Ross, “suffered internal bleeding to the torso”

The main bank account holding revenue from the Venezuelan oil sales is located in Qatar.

“There is no basis in law for a president to set up an offshore account that he controls so that he can sell assets seized by the American military,” Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

Why do a third of Americans still support Trump?
Because he makes them feel good about being awful.
Because he hurts the people they hate.
It’s not issues-based. It’s emotional. Which is why you can’t talk people out of it.

I haven’t seen enough to rate it as zero yet, but the report is based solely on two unnamed “US officials” (not even a department named) and DHS has not responded to requests for more information. If he really had internal bleeding, Ross could authorize his doctor and/or the hospital to confirm.
Zero percent chance this is true.

Also, the guy who killed someone dropped an F bomb. So the only difference between him and Frey is killing someone.
WELKER: Do you bear any responsibility to bring down the temperature?

FREY: Of course. But I dropped an F bomb and they killed somebody. I think the killing somebody is the inflammatory element here and not the F bomb.

This is bullshit. A chatbot is not something that can apologize.

Pretending otherwise is simple laundering these companies' bullshit about what AI is, while diffusing blame away from the human beings that developed and released this system.

If only Americans had a recent way to know how crucial immigrants were for the success of the Manhattan Project. A big Hollywood movie where a lot of the nuclear scientist characters speak with accents and talk about fleeing Europe that makes tons of money and wins a bunch of Oscars, perhaps.
Immigrant-hating Stephen Miller talks about Americans being "first to harness the atom." But the first controlled, self-sustaining nuclear chain reaction was conducted by a team led by Italian immigrant Enrico Fermi, who didn't become a U.S. citizen until a year and a half later.
