I think this is a very meaningful, insightful way to view payroll. Every free agent we considered with the #Marlins was part of an analysis of how many multiple low-cost players the Big Signing would cost us. Want a FA 3rd baseman? It may cost you multiple MiL relievers who need ST invites.
Have wondered if baseball payroll size is better viewed not as a function of “the team’s will to win” but as “the amount of dead money a team can risk carrying,” particularly if the team wants to be perpetually competitive. Is it a fairer way to evaluate payroll? For two or three teams, possibly.

When you hear "have mercy on the people in our country who are scared now" as hate, it's probably time to spend a few minutes in prayer and repentance.
There was a time, not long ago, when conservatives said they were very concerned about people denigrating other people for their religious faith.
