Perfectly said.

I've been trying to read insights from people smarter and more informed than me to try to get my mind around the current state of affairs.
While that's a VERY large pool of people, few help me understand things more than Chris.

LAW DORK: For Judge Gregory Katsas, a Trump appointee from the president’s first term, a month on the motions panel at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit appears to have taught him an important lesson about President Donald Trump’s second term.

BREAKING: DOJ ends a key racial discrimination case, signaling an end to the Civil Rights Division as it existed.

The lawsuit against the Mississippi state Senate alleged a brazen pattern of racial discrimination against a Black woman, but AAG Harmeet Dhillon ended the case.

Other than that, though, I'm doing fine!
This country has seen some bad moments in the 61 years, 5 months, 16 days I’ve been on this Earth. But it has never, ever before come close to the supertoxic level of stupidity, mendacity, narcissism, nihilism, and moral apathy that threaten to destroy it today.

One thing I learned in many years reporting in China is how eventually, the power apparatus comes for everyone, even those who think they'll remain safe by keeping quiet or sucking up to power. That's just how it works.

This is relevant for Padres fans
I think this is a very meaningful, insightful way to view payroll. Every free agent we considered with the #Marlins was part of an analysis of how many multiple low-cost players the Big Signing would cost us. Want a FA 3rd baseman? It may cost you multiple MiL relievers who need ST invites.
Have wondered if baseball payroll size is better viewed not as a function of “the team’s will to win” but as “the amount of dead money a team can risk carrying,” particularly if the team wants to be perpetually competitive. Is it a fairer way to evaluate payroll? For two or three teams, possibly.

When you hear "have mercy on the people in our country who are scared now" as hate, it's probably time to spend a few minutes in prayer and repentance.
There was a time, not long ago, when conservatives said they were very concerned about people denigrating other people for their religious faith.
