The lengths Trump is going to to avoid releasing these files is EXTREME.

I was not originally a believer that he had something massive to hide here but his behavior is pretty much proving the opposite.

At this point we must conclude there's something damning there that he'll never let out.

Speaker Johnson sending the House home a day early ensures there is no vote on the ACA meaning healthcare premiums will now double for hundreds of thousands of Coloradans.

Congress is truly broken when it takes vacation early rather than help Americans with unendurable costs.
This has the votes to pass with bipartisan support, but Johnson is going to adjourn the House again to delay it as long as possible just like he did with Epstein.

This 👇. My go-to explanation since the boat strikes and navy buildup began in late summer: They're bootstrapping a justification for invoking the Alien Enemies Act to detain and deport people domestically.
I keep saying this but no one is connecting the dots. The war is to satisfy legal preconditions for mass removal *domestically* of Latinos (i.e., suddenly a lot of people are going to be “Venezuelan” for purposes of removal). This is 100% Stephen Miller…oil claim is to make grandpa go along
There is no national security logic that would impel the US to want to do regime change in Venezuela. It's simply not that important. I'm not even sure wag the dog is the right metaphor for what's happening here. Seems like an insane misallocation of US national security assets and attention.

Well, this is an utter disaster for science.

This gutting of peer review is very likely driven by Project 2025/OMB/Vought, very likely is about funding junk science, and very likely is coming for #NIH and biomedical research next.

Today in the casual media normalization of personalist, nepotistic authoritarianism.

Jared Kushner holds no senior Senate-confirmed post in the US government. He is the son-in-law & business partner of the president. This is unprecedented, massive corruption & media outlets should treat it as such.

Yep. I don't doubt MPD juked their stats. Many do.

But also -- and I know this is going to come as a shock -- but a lot of white cops resent working for black chiefs. And a lot of male cops resent working for women chiefs. This is a black woman chief.

So this "investigation" is . . . not much.
Buried under 12 paragraphs and 4 ads is this: that an investigation into the politicization of data was conducted not by … actually reviewing any data … but just by interviewing senior officials who disliked their chief.

So more politics.
