Minimalism is a scam invented by big small to sell more less.
Can we have this not be counterfactual please?
A counterfactual idea after days of NSS-debate: NATO must be europeanized, or it will cease to exist, and of course it will have to include Ukraine, the country with the only army experienced in holding back Russia.
Discuss!

“If we allow Russia to come out of this conflict as a victor, we have all lost” - very important and timely words from Czech President Petr Pavel.

The cost to stop a growing evil today will always be lower than the cost to stop it tomorrow.

And not just in money.

EU’s Top Court Just Made It Literally Impossible To Run A User-Generated Content Platform Legally
The Court of Justice of the EU—likely without realizing it—just completely shit the bed and made it effectively impossible to run any website in the entirety of the EU that hosts user-generated content. Obviously, for decades now, we’ve been talking about issues related to intermediary liability, and what standards are appropriate there. I am an unabashed supporter of the US’s approach with Section 230, as it was initially interpreted, which said that any liability should land on the party who contributed the actual violative behavior—in nearly all cases…

In a reasonable world, this peace plan could have been written by any country except Russia.

So Bezos is in them too then?
The Washington Post editorial board decided the Epstein files have “no public interest” before even seeing them. That’s a stunning position for any newsroom to take. Praising Clay Higgins as the lone ‘no’ vote, too? No wonder no one trusts legacy media. Absolutely disgusting.

They must have circulated the wrong document then.
⁉️ US Vice President JD Vance has said that it is essential for the Trump administration that any peace agreement be acceptable to Ukraine, guarantee its sovereignty, and prevent a resumption of the war.

My mistake has been trying to explain what "fascism" is to people who don't care what it is.

So I'm going to try something else. Let's do this as a practical thought exercise.

If America *were* fascist *today* - what would you have to do differently in your daily life? /1

Computers were a skill. They were taught in classrooms as a skill. Skills give you power over your tools because you work them as an expert and that is leverage to multiply externally.

And then computers became an A/B tested telemetry-based advertising conduit to brains for SaaS recurring revenue.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.
