There's a tendency, possibly unavoidable, to assume everyone you run into online is an evil, ignorant ass.

Which is fine. Conditioned responses, whatever.

But if you're gonna make it obvious and run with that assumption through every interaction, look for the ass in your screen's glass.
There's other possibilities, this is simply the most cynical projection available and I'm sure there's some logical proof already locking outcomes to money.

Trump could treat Maduro like a Noriega, here as a threat to our vital access to available oil.

Still leaves the question of Trump's price. 🧵
Maduro's arrest is probably a shakedown.

The pardon of the Honduran pres makes it clear freedom can be bought. Maduro will be negotiating his freedom against some percentage of Venezuela's economy, to return as a reformed pro-Trump vassal governor.

All kinds of ways he never sees a court trial. 🧵
Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts.

Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

All politics are local. If it's going to look good in her district to oppose Trump, she's going to oppose Trump. That's how it's supposed to work and from there it's on the voters.

It's reassuring to me, to see pols on the Right covering their @sses; they seemingly think the midterms still matter.
“These are not the people who should be attacked.”

Rep. Boebert rips Trump for vetoing a bipartisan water project bill - either bc they won’t release Tina Peters after he pardoned her, or for Boebert backing the Epstein files release.

(She only cares when it impacts her)

I 🤔 everyone has their part to play. Stewart's not the guy, but he helped create Colbert & Bee & Noah & a new bunch, now doing what heroes do and aging out 🤷

But the Left's as much a sucker for cults as the Right, often only conflating nostalgia with principle. Real q now is what Bee et al can do.
This is my reaction every time I see someone late to the game finally recognizing that Jon Stewart is no help whatsoever

USPS quietly changed its postmark rules — mail is no longer dated when you drop it off. The “official” date is when it hits automated sorting — sometimes days later

Which could have major implications for mail in voting — it’s a clever way to disenfranchise voters that’s going largely overlooked

Clinton was ok but categorically NOT "great for America". His crime bill amplified mass incarceration of Blacks and his economic policy primed the Great Recession.

...And his FBI ('96) let Epstein walk, so he does have a vested interest in making Trump look even worse with a full file release.
What is the obsession with pictures of Bill Clinton with Epstein?

Clinton has released statements calling for the Epstein files to be made public.

Trump is fighting to prevent the American public from ever seeing the Epstein files.

Clinton was great for America; Trump is killing America.

I see anecdotal claims that Bluesky has an anti-Palestine bias, don't know firsthand if it's true.

On my feed: all pro-Palestine posts are pleas for support or ending the war. All pro-Israel posts are condemnations of Palestinians or calls for more destruction.

Bias or bad spam filters? No idea.

This bold soul blocks both replies and quotes, AND skips over a reality that King Bibi was sending cash payments directly to Hamas to prop them up as a villain he could politically oppose.

The word is "D'oh". Link below.

Unfortunately due to the attention paid to weaksauce reactions on these early batches, odds are later more incriminating elements will be locked down more securely.

Looked up my old school out of curiosity, found the best thing I've ever actually seen about the place.

#CSUCI is totally run by campus police. Their admin of parking passes is an outright scam, and they park their SUVs on the actual quad just to intimidate students.

Go anywhere but there, kids.

The missus is a career librarian, she knows books. Was stunned that Chris Nolan could possibly fit The Odyssey into a single film.

I was a career film dope. It'll be 3+ hrs, effects will drown out lost nuance & there'll be an extra last reel for Harvey Dent to turn into Two-Face and die. #filmsky
