i published a first version of my browser puzzle/platform game (+ level editor). you can play it for free (w/a keyboard) at boxtype.app. levels are encoded in the url; if you make something you like you can share it with anyone

i'd love to hear what you think!

seen a few takes this week that present various supposed views of genAI critics in a way that's exaggerated, caricatured, distorted, or straight-up fictitious, and I can't help but feel it looks an awful lot like in-group reinforcement

i think we are about to discover (a little too late) that spending your days "interacting" with the machine that gaslights you is bad for your mental health. even if you are only using it for technical tasks like programming

the inelegant brute force approach of LLMs is such an antithesis of everything i enjoy about computing. i hope we can move on to something else. preferably soonish

the other companies that sell LLM-based services are bad and immoral. but the company that provides the plagiarism machine that i use is good, actually

we're gonna make AGI any moment now. which is why we need to integrate ads and shopping into our core product (that we made by accident). also we are making a health app!

I’ve never seen more pronounced Gell-Mannesia than in people using LLMs to learn about the world.

their bot was the only one that refused to generate nudes when we asked, so that should abate any doubts you might have about their trustfulness

someone should make a language you can use to tell the computer what to do

in the good old days (some years ago) an important consideration in software dev was lock-in (cloud providers), dependencies (who maintains the libraries you use) and skill set (who knows the langs. you use). is that just not important anymore? just make computer go brr and hope for the best?

a thing i don't understand about coding agents/LLMs is the pricing. from what i can tell it seems expensive. and there isn't any reason to expect these prices to go down. what happens when you depend on a tool that is getting more and more expensive?
