The bathrooms from your dreams really exist
Holy shit… we are in the bathrooms

This is obvious, but still interesting to me. The interpretation that a given LLM comes to given very similar context can be wildly different. And in both these responses I can see why they would say that. Both are 'reasonable'

If I had access to only one model, it would 💯 colour my interpretation

Quite easily

It also gives pretty useful information about how it would collapse into a blackhole

Plus, I enjoyed the background thoughts

Interesting book, "The Annotated Mother Goose"

If you like the history behind the rhymes

Just learned about QT-45 this morning. Look it up if you haven't, it's super cool. Self-replicating molecule that fits in a tweet.

That's it. That's the whole thing. If we find that molecule on Enceladus, boy, that might bump AI out of the news.

Pretty sure this is why I had this bisk bookmarked

I hit bookmark on this for some reason

Anyway. Watched this with my son when he was six. He enjoyed the movie except for one part...

Right at the end there's an emotional bit (won't spoil the ending), but this was just off the back of us saying goodbye to our cat... Tears

Copyright should not extend to companies. If they want to copyright a thing they should find a guy to hold said copyright. Copyright should also only extend until the death of the holder, whether natural or not. If you hold a copyright anyone should be allowed to hunt you for sport

Very difficult to have a unique dream
I also have the "glide inches over a slope ballistically" dream, interesting
February 13, 2026 at 4:18 PM
Another dream where I was running and then reached a section of road where the angle was such that I could glide just above it, leaning forward into the breeze, flying but not flying

i had a hypothetical about this in my model introspection / mecha-searle gf post but iirc deleted it for space reasons. but basically it'd be better to factory farm clones of the buddha than of a median human

Ways to tell you're living in a simulation:

* there's a smallest unit
* there's an arbitrary upper speed limit
* some things are only rendered when you look at them
* looking at one thing affects something else arbitrarily
* at large distances measurements don't quite work like you expect them to
Reality has a surprising amount of detail, which is *very* annoying

dying before i am able to upload into a fully hardware capable robotic body would be a real bummer

the irl version of the sci-fi series not being completed because the author died (e.g. Frank Herbert)
Any situation where you don't fully control the hardware in an upload scenario is a recipe for you becoming a mind slave ala Lena

Carving this off into its own thread

May I ask why you still do eat meat given that's the mindset?

I switched to a mostly vegetarian diet but hypocritically still have dairy (victimless crime isn't it?) and have free range eggs

Also I take the Buddha approach and if friends serve meat I'll eat it
I think, with a few narrow exceptions that in practice do not apply

Eating meat

(which I also do)

Is for sure an evil activity

I try to simply live with the dissonance because that's the honest thing...

The "Mary Knowledge Argument" but for a girl raised on a diet of rice and milk. When she leaves the room she's given an umami rich dish spiced with chillies. Does she gain knowledge?

oh look, the first one has arrived
