every single frame of animation, in-house developed sound effect, line of code, visual asset, chart, and line of dialogue was done by a human and done without using generative AI tools in the making of UNBEATABLE. relinquishing creative choices to tools makes your work empty, vapid, and meaningless

I’ve said this before but white guilt is useless. I don’t want people to feel guilty for things they had no part in, and guilt easily curdles into resentment. But everyone regardless should feel an obligation to correct injustice, especially if you somehow benefit. bsky.app/profile/mich...
I found this piece sad too, but mostly because it is part of a years-long effort by progressives to understand what "really" animates Trump voters.

We already know! It is racism, misogyny and misinformation. I know that sounds condescending or whatever but it's simply what all evidence suggests.

Just FYI: It's just that more people are making good-looking things with Godot since it got more popular, not that Godot graphics "look good now".

It’s incredibly noticeable how often ‘and an army of outsourcers outside America and Western Europe’ is left out of these team sizes. That’s the part I find real uncomfortable.
This year's Summer Games Fest presentation was really concerned with how few people made a lot of those games, huh?

It feels kinda fucked up. Not just because they're often misrepresntating the real size of these teams, but because I think it's playing directly into a new(ish) flavour of dev hate.

From our old social RPG prototype. A level up effect, was new to Godot particles at the time.

We've shelved our multiplayer party RPG for now in favour of our singleplayer merfolk RPG inspired by indigenous Caribbean history!

I knew libraries weren't used as much as back in the days, but the librarian being excited about me signing up makes a bit more sense now...

Also, that library was lovely & comes with Kanopy streaming & audiobooks I can download via an app. Check out your local libraries!
