i think i just mourn the hostility to children in general. like i know i sound hostile here but this is bc third spaces devoted to and safe for kids online and offline just dont exist. no games centers, no walkable areas, no youth clubs where people can craft and do stuff together yknow.

It's dire and I remember when being on the net as a kid was fun. It wasn't 100% safe but I do remember kid spaces that I loved. I checked girlsgogames recently. I used to play doll games on there all the time. It barely fucking works now.

i care abt kids big time but increasingly of the feeling that kids safety online is a parenting and childs support network problem and not my issue as its so often a trojan horse for regressive ideas

Except... a ton of people decided to roll up their sleeves and start *new* queer bookshops, all over the place. In cities. In tiny towns.
