speaking of Stargate i built a ZPM (zed-pee-emm, of course) a week ago. no idea what was the deal with Atlantis having so much trouble with these to start 🙄

A ZPM (zero-point module) as seen in Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis, built out of legoesque bricks (BlueBrixx, in this case). If you haven't seen a ZPM before, it sorta resembles one of those salt lamps, but way more orange, and made out of stained glass. You can see red and green bits of stained glass made outta bricks on this guy. It's on a black brick-built stand with a miniature eponymous Stargate and a lil placard. All of that is balanced on a makeshift plinth out of two plastic cartons because the USB cable powering the lights in the brick ZPM was kinda short, and the base of the ZPM itself was too fragile for it to stand on. It's pretty cool. I miss when BlueBrixx had the Star Trek license. Four hundred United States Dollars for an Enterprise-D? With stickers? BlueBrixx would never. You can barely see it, but there's a BlueBrixx made Type 3 Phaser Rifle from Star Trek: First Contact behind the ZPM, just out of frame. That had no stickers, and you could open the power cell, flip the foregrip, remove the sight, open the innards, all that good stuff. I worry Lego ain't gonna make anything besides the -D and the original 1701 before leaving the license to dry, honestly, and I doubt they'd ever have the range BlueBrixx did. Doubt they would've made a life-sized phaser or disruptor replica, for instance, or a functioning d'k tahg. I don't think Lego "does guns" or whatever. Also BlueBrixx's big-ass ships barely had stickers. I think the Defiant and minifig-scale runabout did out of necessity (decals across multiple parts), but that was about it. There's also a little gold model of the original 1701 behind the ZPM. That's an Eaglemoss model, it's in a plastic case for its own protection. Speaking of which, I could go on a whole goddamn rant about Fanhome and their abysmal lack of international availability, especially compared to MasterReplicas, but I'm running out of space in this alt text. At least it's entirely descriptive of the image. And also my emotions.

We're back on Deep Space 9 today in a scene with Odo and Luaxana Troi (Daughter of the Fifth House, Holder of the Sacred Chalice of Rixx, Heir to the Holy Rings of Betazed). Luaxana is wearing bright red and has very blonde hair, all gussied up for something. Mitchell discussed his transformation into Kol through the character's distinct look: "The costume is heavy and it's hot and the prosthetics are heavy and hot, but I've always been an actor that works from the inside out and the outside in. These costumes and prosthetics, when you put them on, they're like layers of your character, and the more you put on the more you start feeling like your character. Then you add in the language, this very visceral and guttural language, and it just lends itself so much to my character, being a kind of aggressive Klingon. I find the language itself is a little bit aggressive and I’ve found when I am speaking it, I kind of start moving my body a bit and using my arms and moving my neck a bit. All these layers added on to helping me create my character."
