The double standard where non-Asian chefs insist on spending years living and training in Europe before opening a French or Italian restaurant but feel "inspired" to open their SE Asian restaurant after a week of vacation in Thailand will never be less than infuriating.

One thing I think this new breed of entitled fandom fails to understand is just how exhausting this bullshit is for artists. You’re not fostering better art. You’re chasing away the people who make the things you love because dealing with you is too tiresome.

This is not a criticism. I am genuinely perplexed and want to understand. But what on earth is the purpose of putting your phone on speaker mode and holding it in front of your face like a tiny tray of hors d’ouevres rather than simply putting it to your ear as God and its designers intended?

I love this *in theory*, but practically speaking? As a fellow pro writer, give me half an hour and a keyboard and I'll bang out 1500 words, ready to publish. Hand me a pencil and paper, though, and I'll be lucky to manage five sentences. Physically, I mean. I can barely write a check these days.
