One of the reasons I switched to Kagi this year is because their ability to filter out AI slop in results was drastically better than the competition. This just makes me that much more happy I made the switch.
Today, we're launching SlopStop: Community-driven AI slop detection in Kagi Search.

Join our collective defense against AI-generated spam and content farms:

YouTube recommended me Daft Hands today. I remember this when it was new 18 years ago (!) and it makes me nostalgic for the days when viral videos were actually seen by everyone on the platform instead of the siloed bubbles social media creates now.

Splitting an arrow completely down its shaft is (probably) impossible, but this partial split might be the closest I'll ever get.

One thing I'm realizing AI/Vibe Coding is actually useful for is Rubber Duck Debugging. When I have a problem I'm trying to solve, the act of trying to explain it to an LLM is helpful in me realizing the solution on my own before I finish typing the AI prompt.

Missing from this article is how the top 5 movies of summer 2025 aren't very good films. They're all rehashing of things we've all seen before.

If the great films this year got anywhere near the marketing hype of the "big" blockbusters, I think the numbers would look different.

Single Nashville officer arrests 8th sober person for DUI. This is a good reminder that you can assert your fifth amendment right to remain silent when a cop asks you to perform field sobriety tests. Refusing to perform a field sobriety test cannot legally be held against you.

I now have to go to New Jersey, of all places, to get vaccinated. Driving to New Jersey does not make anyone healthy.

Got caught with the @frame.work laptop bug where the motherboard throttled my system to 400Mhz. I'm impressed at how well my OS functioned at 1/8th speeds. Sure, it was painfully slow, but much better than I would have expected for a modern system. A CMOS reset fixed things, thankfully.

Somehow accidentally lost all my open browser tabs (all 300+ of them). Even though they were mostly worthless things that I'll never actually "get around to" I feel like I need to have a funeral for the tabs I've lost.

AI generated slop has become so good at SEO for technical topics that I've had to start blocking domains in my ad blocker. Not only are those sites bad for general info, but a lot of my searches are for advanced things that AI suggests impossible solutions to.

#YouTube has stopped listing videos in the subscription feed linearly. There's now some kind of algorithm controlling it unless you specifically open a sub-section (shorts, videos, live, podcasts, etc) and it makes me so sad to see yet another social network killing what I desperately cling to.

I can actually understand the motivations of state officials for using a site like Twitter or Facebook for emergency alerts. Sending a link to every single person with a phone in a region can easily crash a small web server. But they need to be mindful of linking to a walled garden as well.
We should all be yelling at our state officials about the complete insanity of posting vital emergency information *exclusively* on Twitter/X and/or Facebook in 2025.

There is absolutely NO good excuse for this.

Many, many people don’t use those platforms. Many never did.
Here's one I got it WA not too long ago

The link directed me to a "make an account" page on twitter.

I work in a medical facility with an urgent care, so it's important for me and my coworkers to have alert info like this.
