How many conversations about heretical saint veneration does one get to have in a lifetime? Not enough, I would say. I loved this conversation with the Polish Folk Witch Joanna Tarnawska. 💕
It’s on your local podcast app.

Has anyone else noticed the word “modest” creeping back in to marketing for women’s clothing? (ie. alongside cottagecore or folk aesthetic). Is anyone else troubled by this?
It’s like, yes to long sleeves but not when they’re made of red flags and dog whistles

I was getting ragey about gender and capitalism and then I remembered I need a daily walk so I got cute snacks from the shop and light shone from within twilight buildings and then everything could be beautiful again.

I'm not teaching my grad course 'Civil Resistance: How It Works' this semester. But here is an abridged version of the course schedule, readings, and films I used the last time I taught it (in 2022). Just in case it's useful. drive.google.com/file/d/14RRJ...

I miss the days when we were aghast a new year had arrived. I haven’t heard a SINGLE person say “I can’t believe it’s 2025” yet. And it’s nearly February. Where have we gone wrong?

The incredible Roman era exhibit at the Hancock museum in Newcastle — colour projections on the stone artifacts show how these altars would have looked nearly two thousand years ago.
