I think this fits into the Nature is Metal Category. On our Urban Wildlife walk on Friday we saw this Bald Eagle with its latest meal, a Gull.

@morganheim.bsky.social the leader of our event spotted this right as we were wrapping up the walk - she's amazing btw, and you should go see her work.

I've been putting the new Sony 400-800mm G lens through its paces over the past week and it's so good!
The primary people asking about it are bird photographers, so I thought I'd post a bunch of what I've been testing it out on! Most of these were taken on the A1II.

I’m always happy when I make it to Saturday. Even though my job sometimes means I’m working, it still feels somehow special.

Today is a non-working one though.

I spent a very cold night out on the Oregon Desert last month, and just couldn't go to sleep before making a few images of one of my favorite places with the Milkyway reflecting off ice.

Good morning nature fans!

This is the final week of heron gm's before I move on to another animal for March. What will it be? Eagles? Bears? Dolphins? Whales? Songbirds? Maybe african animals?🪶📷

A cold January morning in Zion National Park. Minhaz and I ventured up the trail that leads to the narrows with all the crazies in waders in low 20°ish temperatures this morning and the light was so direct and beautiful.

It doesn’t look that cold, but it was on another level. #landscapephotography

Seeing the latest Trump antic- trying to shut down the Downtown NYC tolls -supports what I've been predicting since the election.

States will ignore Trump and Musk's nonsense and take over all social services to take care of citizens. Many states are in a better position to do it than others.

I think this is right. I’ve settled on “I’m sorry you were lied to.”
Believe me I understand the impulse to tell these people that they’re getting what they voted for, I just don’t think it’s constructive. There are some in my family that I’m a little more stern with though. 😏

Want to go visit the national parks this year?
Sorry.
The reservation system is shut down, EMT personnel are gone, so don't get hurt or lost. No one can clean the bathrooms or cabins, so they'll be closed. Rangers are fired.

Hi friends! Been gone for a week or so as I had a bunch of work travel, and a client job that kept my brain occupied for days.

I've found I'm like that with social media. I only really show up here as a brief escape during normal days, but I don't make time for it when I'm busy.

What about you?

Hell yeah. Hold the line. This is what we need people to do.

Slow things down, don’t comply in advance so the courts have time to stop them. It’s starting to work.
Received a letter from POTUS today purporting to remove me as Commissioner and Chair of the FEC. There's a legal way to replace FEC commissioners-this isn't it. I've been so fortunate to serve the American people and stir up some good trouble along the way. That's not changing anytime soon.

On the last morning of my January trip I woke up in one of my favorite places in the world. There was a sheen of ice about an inch or so thick and I spent some great time exploring.

-watched the thermometer very closely with all that frozen water around. 😉

New work from my recent trip to Death Valley.

Titled -Not Naming Names

I don't know that I'll ever get tired of these kinds of scenes. Also, I did- in fact- carry my 400 2.8 up to the top of the tallest dune. 😜

Too many people didn't appreciate just how wonderful, how glorious, it was that the daily news cycle during Biden's presidency was boring as fuck.
