I think this fits into the Nature is Metal Category. On our Urban Wildlife walk on Friday we saw this Bald Eagle with its latest meal, a Gull.

@morganheim.bsky.social the leader of our event spotted this right as we were wrapping up the walk - she's amazing btw, and you should go see her work.

Some noise reduction and some zooming, but that's how I use something like this in the wild. _______________________________

I've been putting the new Sony 400-800mm G lens through its paces over the past week and it's so good!
The primary people asking about it are bird photographers, so I thought I'd post a bunch of what I've been testing it out on! Most of these were taken on the A1II.

I spent a very cold night out on the Oregon Desert last month, and just couldn't go to sleep before making a few images of one of my favorite places with the Milkyway reflecting off ice.

A cold January morning in Zion National Park. Minhaz and I ventured up the trail that leads to the narrows with all the crazies in waders in low 20°ish temperatures this morning and the light was so direct and beautiful.

It doesn’t look that cold, but it was on another level. #landscapephotography

Yup. I've got a film image of this one I haven't scanned yet, but soon.

On the last morning of my January trip I woke up in one of my favorite places in the world. There was a sheen of ice about an inch or so thick and I spent some great time exploring.

-watched the thermometer very closely with all that frozen water around. 😉

New work from my recent trip to Death Valley.

Titled -Not Naming Names

I don't know that I'll ever get tired of these kinds of scenes. Also, I did- in fact- carry my 400 2.8 up to the top of the tallest dune. 😜

This was day 2 of an epic road trip with my friend Min and we spent the morning in the Mesquite Dunes in Death Valley. I posted up at the top of the tallest dune and the view was magnificent.

I made these images with the #fujigs645s and #kodakportra400 film.

Here are a few photos from a unique morning in Eastern Oregon last week. I've been here so many times, but I've never seen anything like this!

The folded patterns are where the ice on top gets pushed by wind, and glides over the melted water underneath.

It's kinda weird looking through new photos from the dunes & noticing myself thinking of previous favorites that made it into my portfolio.

I find these sorts of images are perhaps the most like true digital negatives

Working on the new photos....it will be a little bit before I share more, but it got me looking back in to the archives as well!

This one is called The March of Time.

I'm always so grateful to spend time with friends in nature. Minhaz met up with me for 3.5ish days of shooting. Here he is off in the distance on the dunes in Death Valley.

I just got home from a week long roadtrip. 2 days of work in Salt Lake city, then 5 days in the desert! I've got so many photos of new places I've never been, and some familiar. Here are a few of my early favorites.

Hawaii is pretty special. This was taken on the Kaanapali coast on Maui a few years back right after I had first gotten this camera. I was shooting #kodakportra400 - surprise, surprise.

Took a little stroll yesterday with the Sony A1II yesterday. Not many subjects were out, but I did find this little guy!

Let's just say it pays to stick around at the end of a work trip. I spent all day loading gear after this one, then had one of the most relaxing and beautiful sunsets on the beach. Missing these warm summer California days right about now in cold, rainy Oregon.

Ok, guess I should start posting here again. Usual- “twitter is a cesspool” “Elon Sucks” “less crap”

- it all applies.

Hope you are all well!

Shooting product photos of pool tables is made much easier with heavy equipment. 😉

Well, I love the idea of this app, but right now it’s still super unstable….because tons of people are migrating here.

Here’s a photo I took in Yellowstone back in May. Love that place!
