Ask yourself one thing as you read this, what on Earth were they thinking that "Like the first one, but more of it" was ever going to be a good idea.

Tonight's new-to-E4 Simpsons:

- "Desperately Seeking Lisa": No cuts noted
- "Shoddy Heat": No cuts noted (including an onscreen 'bastard' being left in, so I assume it is indeed C4's policy that this is now OK)

I suppose in an ideal world the blog post I had prepared for today would be about comics, but instead it's about gameplay mechanics of role-playing games from the 1980s. cwickham.blogspot.com/2026/01/coun...

Beano Comic Library #153, titled simply "Ivy the Terrible", was released approx May 1988, when the character had been appearing in the weekly Beano for three years.

It appears to have been on the shelf for some time, as Ivy is introduced and the comic spends all its time stating her basic concept.

Researching a whole post about Ivy, and the original brief for the character was "a girl who wants to be as tough as Dennis or Minnie, but doesn't have the strength or maturity to carry it off", which this teaser is clearly referencing.
Teaser for the debut of Ivy the Terrible in the following week's Beano, from issue 2232 (dated April 27th, 1985)

No cuts noted to "Bart's Birthday" or "The Yellow Lotus".

Also a reminder for this evening's big television event.
Reminder that E4's premiere of Season 36 begins at 8pm tomorrow night -- the first season to premiere on free-to-air TV and not Sky.

(That sentence probably needs caveating more, but fuck it)
