The only reason prisons are able to pay incarcerated individuals less than minimum wage is because the 13 amendment exempts punishment in prison from the prohibition on slavery. They're legal slaves.
That doesn't apply to civil detention for immigration. It's blatantly unconstitutional.

this is not a sports ban - that's false. trans girls in CA can still compete in sports - AB1266 was signed into law in 2013 by Gov. Brown, and it mandates trans people be included in school sports.

To me, the secret to writing is instrumental music. I've been writing more and more this year and the thing that puts me in the zone is instrumental music. It sets the tone, it flows with the writing. It makes or breaks the atmosphere.
