I was complimented and told that I looked very fit and buff today.

My dreams of being a buff baddie are coming true. 🥹

But my retrolisthesis always flares up to humble me 😞

Maybe I can get a snazzier cane and be a buff baddie who tiptoes (gingerly walks) into the function like a pimp.

It’s going to break your heart how many people you know, love, and respect will turn out to be cowards. Prepare yourself as best you can. You are not alone, but you are your own center. Be a strong center.

This morning I had to go the federal building in Baltimore to visit the IRS. ICE is in the same building.

The number of families there, dressed in their best, hoping to leave a good impression. An impression that will not matter with this current government. It all felt very sad.

Want to be clear moves like this show how little power they have; we should not feel defeated. Materials in a museum like NMAAHC were fugitive for most of U.S. history. Ordinary folks collected, archived, studied, recorded these knowledges. Attacking institutionalization is bad but can't erase us.
I know we are exhausted from the no really this meets the textbook definition of fascism conversation, but exhibit G.

There is a way to resist this both from inside museums and from outside by collectively choosing to learn, archive, and protect the knowledge they want to erase.

I can't believe the number was that low. Only 125 whiny bitches? That's crazy.

The decision a lot of universities face now is whether to:

-- have their federal funding pulled because they stood on principle to protect their students and the integrity of their research, or

-- have their funding pulled anyway just because they exist, regardless of how cravenly they submit.

Found a list of Black-owned restaurants in Montréal so we decided to try this Jamaican restaurant near the hotel.

The owner audibly groaned at our presence and his having to cook for us. It was then that we knew.

Food was 10/10. Check out Mango Bay #NCPH2025

Technical difficulties at the Montreal airport meant that I was in line to go through customs for over an hour.

Need a nice glass of wine to calm my nerves.
