The only restrictions on ICE I'm interested in are ones like, "only one hour in the yard per day"
Dems coalescing around 5 restrictions on ICE, I'm told:

DHS required to cooperate with state probes (big)
CBP stays at border
warrants for arrests
IDs, bodycams
ICE out of churches, schools

"That package unites a lot of Dems," Sen Chris Murphy tells me on the pod:

A Dem Senator’s Harsh Takedown of Trump Hits Home: “Breaking Point”
As Trump scrambles to contain the damage from the latest ICE horrors, Senator Chris Murphy offers a sharp indictment of Trump-ICE lawlessness—and explains how Dems can meet the urgency of the moment.

it's so sloppy it doesn't even have the right wrong information. the CURRENT governor of mississippi is tate reeves. she's thinking of the last governor, phil bryant, who is also not carolyn bryant's nephew.

Might I recommend getting into prog metal
If you are interested in knowing about edgy obscure stuff before it goes mainstream and feeling superior to uncool normies, you should take that energy to music or movies or fashion or whatever because any politics worth pursuing is necessarily earnest, inclusive, and deeply, fundamentally uncool.
We need everyone we can get in this fight against a fascist takeover.

If your first instinct to someone being politically mobilized by all this is to give them a sneering "well, what took you so long?" you don't actually care about our winning this; you just want to be able to say you were right.

somebody needs to Do It already
There have been 3 homicides in Minneapolis this year. Trump’s agents committed two of them: a mom and a nurse who cared for our Veterans.

Stay the hell out of our cities.

At a certainly point I feel like teams should be vulturing these terrible organizations (browns, giants, etc)

They get good talent but the org is toxic and ruins them. Seems obvious imo. Just scoop the "bust" QBs when they are driven out of whatever shithole
Man…I’m just really freakin happy for Sam Darnold. We were in Arizona for his loss to the Rams last year—to go from that to this, and from castoff to the Super Bowl.

What an incredible journey. What a game. What a moment for him.

Writing a three paragraph treatise against fascism on my dick in sharpie to post to the internet. It's entirely legible
I'm not going to post screenshots for obvious reasons but I have been alerted that a bunch of the top posts in r/MassiveCock are anti-ICE now and anyone who defends ICE in comments is getting yelled down lol

I have a big and very important paper to write over the next several weeks so I'd really appreciate it if the fall of the Republic could take just a little pause so I can focus

It's not even a clever or thoughtful false equivalence. A small child can understand why those who the state has granted a monopoly on the use violence have a higher obligation to deescalate than random protesters do.
This is from the NYT masthead editorial about the murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti. The highlighted line invalidates not just the editorial, but the very idea of newspaper editorials crafted by the consensus of a board. Better to publish nothing at all than to publish a line like this.

I expect every single law enforcement officer of any kind to be willing to die rather than risk killing a person unnecessarily.

Anyone who does not like that tradeoff should not seek to carry a gun on behalf of the government.

It's really that simple.

I long for a national divorce.
also, I went on /r/conservative the other day.

somebody made a post asking why red states are so broke & need handouts from blue states.

one of the top comments was "because liberals tax us too much & commit fraud"

the lack of self awareness...

I made the mistake of checking /r/asktrumpsupporters

Many of them are sane. Most of them are doing "just comply if to don't want to be killed by an agent of the state"

All my comments were removed by reddit within seconds for obvious reasons

We are in a post truth world for a lot of lies, but these huge whoppers are still way too much to ask
literally every single story on my insta feed is about ICE and Alex Pretti.

the fact that ICE isn’t backing down at all and conducting an investigation but is instead trying to smear a VA nurse as a “domestic terrorist” is fucking insane. it will backfire immensely

revoke section 230 for algorithmic social media. You can still have it for chronologically-displayed feeds, but a social media company should have liability for what they promote.

Then, get real tough on social media-based libel, but go after the twitters and tiktoks for it.
Does anyone have any idea how we break the echo chambers? No Trump voter in my family will ever know what actually happened to Alex Pretti or Renee Good. They will believe the officers were justified. They will watch Fox News and that will be the end of it.

Today, Alex Pretti was murdered by US Government.

Democrats can and must make it clear there will be trials and anyone even somewhat associated with ICE will face them. Maybe give a quit-your-job deadline on appeasement and give people 72 hours. I don't know. But currently the plan is to let them murder us in the street and get away with it.

Prosecute ICE is where Dems should be at next.

Fwiw I see several options for gas masks with prime 2 day shipping. Like c'mon
Bondi: "It's extremely organized. The signs they have are all matching, they're well written. And look at what's happening today. How did these people go out & get gas masks? These protesters. Would you know how to walk out on the street and buy a gas mask? Think about that. We're not gonna have it"

The pendulum is going to swing back and when it does there need to be trials and then executions.
