TIL： The Chinese word for (indigo) blue, laam4 藍, might be related to Malay/Indonesian tarum (indigo) and Thai kraam คราม (indigo). According to Schuessler, it's an areal word from SEA that now exists in Sino-Tibetan, Kra-Dai, and Austronesian languages.
