Teach your kids that TIME doesn't choose the "best" person for person of the year. They choose the person that has the most impact that year, good or bad. No one is trying to normalize anything. People reposting this either don't know how the process works or are being intentionally obtuse.

My view is that extrajudicial vigilante killings are not good, but the incuriosity of well-compensated columnists about why millions of people’s horrific, life-changing experiences with a sprawling, cruel, bankruptcy-inducing health care system might lead them to feel differently makes me really sad

Did anyone else have a library class in middle school? Like… we legitimately had a class in our library where we learned how to classify books using the Dewey Decimal System, learned how to research and cite information, learned how to use encyclopedias and almanacs, etc.
