Trump's response to questions about Iran was incoherent. Seems like Vance and Rubio are running things but honestly who knows? Could be Gen. Jack D. Ripper.

How else to explain the medbed video? Rule by ai is already here.
i firmly believe — like you would have to give me hard evidence to convince me otherwise — that they feed trump a steady diet of AI slop
man, did the viziers in the WH not actually show him the actual video?

My headline, by contrast: ICE Executes a Witness
Hell of a thing to publish the same morning multiple major outlets are running forensic analyses showing it's not ambiguous at all
Ugh. This is from Brian Stelter's newsletter.

One side says this an unjustified shooting, based on video footage. The other is calling the victim a domestic terrorist who intentionally ran over an ICE officer, based on zero evidence.

This is "nuanced" in the way the flat-earth debate is nuanced.

A lot of ritual self-abuse by Americans in response to this drivel, which completely erases the real international solidarity that has solved past authoritarian crises -- including, memorably, in Europe.

The U.S. intervened to oust governments in Latin America a total of at least 41 times — about once every 28 months from 1898 to 1994 — including 17 cases of direct intervention by the U.S. armed forces, intelligence agencies, or locals employed by U.S. government agencies.
A 2023 analysis of the effects of CIA-sponsored regime change in five Latin American countries found the interventions caused “large declines in democracy scores, rule of law, freedom of speech, and civil liberties.” interc.pt/4sinphB
