Almost one third of eligible voters in the US do not vote. Most of the are Democrats. We can, in effect, redistrict the entire country by turning them out. It is difficult, but it can be done and it is not expensive.

I was wondering what Mamdani's first executive order would be, and I'm not disappointed by this.

He has wiped off the books EVERY Eric Adams executive order issued on or after September 26, 2024, the day Adams was indicted on federal bribery charges.

Years ago I had cable tv and lots of viewing options and at some point I thought I’d stick it to The Man by cutting the cord and now I probably pay twice as much for a gaggle of streaming services. In hindsight, I’m pretty sure The Man got the best of me on that one.

Trumpian imperialism in action: kidnap the head of the regime, leaving the rest of it in place so as to access the oil reserves for the US companies. Then realize the oil is actually quite expensive to extract, so go ahead and SUBSIDIZE the oil companies. Perfect.

Worth the watch. Ultraprocessing not about simple sugar and transfat content - it is short bursts of intense flavor that fuel binge eating, chemicals that cause sparks of pleasure in our brains. And fascinated by the argument that this intensified when tobacco companies started buying up food corp.
In the first lawsuit of its kind, the city of San Francisco is suing 11 of the nation’s top food companies, saying they sell ultra-processed food knowing they are harmful to health. By some estimates, more than 60% of food consumed in the U.S. is ultra-processed. https://to.pbs.org/3Lr6ed0

Trans News Network has a policy against platforming bigotry. As such, we have declined to publish the Times' statement which included blatant transphobia.
