When graphical limits prevented people from telling their story entirely through realism & visual eye candy, game developers and designers had to sell you on other aspects instead - writing, interactions, voice performance, or even the aesthetic of a flat background image.

Creativity was nurtured.
When you consider that this beauty runs on 25 year old hardware, the possibilities for us are still endless.

You don't need to be able to read every pore and eyelash on a character's face for "good" graphics. You need good art direction and design. Those are what ensure your game still looks striking and memorable even decades later.

Hades 2 features several recruitable animal familiars, including Hecuba the hound. Hecuba can help dig up treasure during runs, and she can be pet at the home base.
