Overthinking my first post....
My boy turned 10 this week. My girl's U17 soccer team crushed an opponent last night. My 14 year anniversary of leaving Ireland, returning home to TO and starting my current job is now.
And most importantly, today I'm 8 years sober.
I'm overflowing with gratitude.🙏

“Since the Ontario Place spa was approved, Therme Group RHTG has posted yearly net losses…”

Therme has also experienced significant delays in getting some of their European projects built.

Looks like Doug Ford’s dream of a casino in downtown Toronto is close to coming true.
The Ford government touted Therme as a ‘world-class’ partner for Ontario Place. In Europe, ‘significant’ concerns have emerged over finances, records obtained by the Star show.

The warning is included in previously unreported audits. Therme says it doesn't reflect the strong financial footing of the global business.

I was just reminded that Jill Dunlop - the fourth of five education ministers we’ve had to endure since the Cons took power - announced that teachers should keep politics out of the classroom.

I guess I need to rethink my Which Doug Are You Today? morning meeting check in.

How complicated would it be to run a poll and find market tolerance for $50 a day in parking fees and if that’s tenable. My guess is that the uptake on this would be so low that they couldn’t make this work financially. This whole deal from top to bottom, including the science center, stinks.
This ~3,500-space waterfront parking garage is baffling for many reasons, but let’s focus on the accounting. Prov says it’ll generate $60m a year. That’s about $47 per space per day. For comparison, the garage under City Hall does $14 per space per day. St. Mike’s does $24. Sankofa Square does $30.
