I think this is part of my generation's confusion about AI.

We were raised on a culture that warned about these dangers repeatedly -- from WarGames to the Terminator films to the Matrix, and countless other dystopian futures in between -- and now those cautionary tales are being celebrated.
Imagine when The Terminator came out if you told someone that in 40 years the world’s richest weirdo would fill the sky with a communications net, embrace AI, and now promise to build an army of robots, and nobody seems inclined to stop him.

Definitively one of the most momentous events in legal history. It should be a public holiday.
Today is the 5th anniversary of the release of the infamous #Lawyercat video, which I posted roughly thirty minutes after the start of the second impeachment trial. Who would have thought it would have such a lasting impact on the world! Happy Lawyercat Day for all who celebrate!
Happy #Lawyercat Anniversary for all who celebrate! It's been four years since the kitten appeared in my Zoom courtroom, and I released the 48 second video that made the whole world laugh. Here is the full video showing the big reveal at the end (in two parts because Blue sky). Enjoy!

PERSON OF THE DAY. 5 February 1938. Jewish lawyer Hans Litten died in Dachau concentration camp (aged 34). He cross-examined Hitler in a 1931 trial. Hitler was so rattled by the experience he sent Litten to a concentration camp in 1933. Badly treated for years, he committed suicide in Dachau.

so crazy to me that a woman asked trump if he has any words for epstein's victims and he said "you as a young woman should smile more." it will go nowhere bc republicans refuse to hold trump accountable, but it's still pretty crazy.

Law is not magic, and prohibitions are not spells.

All a prohibition does is to change the legal and other consequences when a prohibited thing happens.

Some prohibitions make sense, others make no sense at all.
Drug laws have never stopped people from using drugs.

They've stopped people from using drugs safely.

It's time to legalise *and* regulate.
