The federal government is taking over the California National Guard and deploying 2,000 soldiers in Los Angeles — not because there is a shortage of law enforcement, but because they want a spectacle.

Don't give them one.

Never use violence. Speak out peacefully.

It doesn’t matter to Trump that Pete Hegseth endangered U.S. armed forces by sharing attack plans with his wife, his brother and a journalist.
It matters to Trump that Hegseth is willing to order American troops to attack American civilians. That’s why Hegseth is there.

I can’t recommend this enough.

UNBREAKING, a new project from @lizneeley.bsky.social & co, documents & explains our many concurrent institutional collapses.

It’s beautifully executed work, full of intellectual & moral clarity. 3 pages are live, more will come. It’s SO GOOD, & I learned so much.
👋 Hi, we’re Unbreaking, a volunteer-run collective working to document our current moment of institutional collapse and its human costs—as well as the pushback and resilience work already underway. We believe this is critical work for building and retaining political agency.

Putin is too much of a coward to meet face to face with Zelensky to talk peace, so he will instead send thousands more of his country’s young men to die for absolutely no reason, and Trump will continue to lie and tell us how much warmonger mass-murderer Putin really wants peace.

We spend $800 billion a year on our military yet our greatest enemy lives in the White House and we fly him to his own golf course for play dates on the weekend.

We also fly him abroad to facilitate his emoluments violations while we fly others to concentration camps.

Trump has ZERO effect on Putin, not even able to bring him to negotiations.
He threatened Putin with sanctions if he didn’t sign the ceasefire. He didn’t, Trump did nothing.

Then he threatened sanctions again and Putin blew off peace talks in Turkey.

And all this weak loser has to say about it is this complete load of bullshit. Trump is Putin’s bitch.

Scientists have been publishing climate models since ~1970.

A good way to evaluate their skill is to compare what they expected to happen in the years after the model was published to observed climate changes.

It turns out most models were pretty spot-on:
