As one of the launch partners of the Accessible Games Initiative, Microsoft is now first to integrate the accessibility tags on Xbox storefronts.

The tags will replace equivalent Accessibility Feature tags, while some remain to complement the new tags.

Another challenge for those interested in game accessibility education (and probably everyone) - AI-generated "courses" in niche disciplines.
Today's #AI slop: a fake paid game accessibility course that is 100% gen-AI, filled with the same factual errors you get from asking ChatGPT, and sold on lies like 'taught by experts' 'networking opportunities' '500 vacancies' - www.lsba.org.uk/Home/CourseD...

Today is World Diabetes Day. I have type 1 diabetes, an autoimmune disease that is unpreventable, currently incurable, and requires constant monitoring and attention for the rest of my life. I use an insulin pump and CGM to do so, which helps, but it still is a lot of mental and physical energy.

I'm seeing a similar pattern that @ruelgaviola.bsky.social identifies in his post, including a step back in color vision accessibility from some publishers that were previously rock stars in this area.

Check out his excellent articles!
Recently I've come across a few games that aren't colorblind accessible. Disappointing, but not surprising. So I'm linking to two articles I wrote years ago. Game designers, publishers, graphic designers, etc., please take note! 1/2
