My small country, Estonia, population 1.3 million sent 2003-2014 over 2500 soldiers. 9 were killed in the line of duty. 109 wounded, half of them so seriously they could no longer lead a normal life.

In Iraq 2003-2009 we had more than 440 soldiers. 2 were killed. 18 seriously wounded.

HEGSETH: We wore a patch on our shoulder that said ISAF -- International Security Assistance Force. And you know what the joke was? That is stood for 'I saw Americans fighting.'

COONS: Let's just make clear for the record that our military partners in Afghanistan included many who served and died

Every year on Memorial Day, I share this video of French caretakers who take sand from Omaha Beach in Normandy, and scrub them into the letters to give them the gold coloring.

They do this for all 9,386 US soldiers who died.

France also gave us this land as American soil.

It's the biggest news for more than 300 years to come out of Scotland and nobody in the UK mainstream media is reporting it.
A bid is being launched at the United Nations to have Scotland decolonised.

I've done 91 clubs this season, deliberately leaving Forest until last because you have to end up at home.

The final game - which in August I longed to be meaningless - will decide which European competition we play in for the first time in 30 years. I think that's pretty cool.

Poor start by Lancs, 23-2 v Gloucs. Lots of schoolkids from across Lancashire here at Old Trafford. Joyfully noisy.

Take a minute from your day and read this chilling story about how quickly we've gotten to where we are.
1. Clay Jackson, a Texas lawyer, provided basic legal advice to an immigrant family fearing deportation

Then, two officers visited him at his home, accusing him of "obstructing an ongoing immigration investigation"

Then, after speaking publicly, he was fired from his job at a Fortune 500 company
Fortune 500 company abruptly fires lawyer who helped immigrant family
On March 4, Clay Jackson, an attorney in the Dallas area, was at a gas station near his home when the attendant asked if he would help a local immigrant family.

Wow. Then why was he freed with no charges and given permission to stay in the country in 2019? Man, whoever was president then sure owes us an explanation for letting this monster out in our streets.

Look this isn't even remotely the point here but the height different between the two people to Johnson's right is so insane it literally looks fake.

🤞 Hoping the Supreme Court upholds the Banks’ liability for secret commissions. The PPI scandal gave a £50bn boost for the car industry as the compensation was spent. The same will happen this time with the added bonus that the FCA has a plan to deprive ‘claims management’ companies of skimming 40%.

Okay, those points are important. But I want to know: who are these nine-year-olds paying tax?
This analysis from the FT is arguably all you need to know in policy terms for the medium to longer term. Declining birth rates / aging population mean the role of the state is going to fundamentally change.

Arguing that Jeffrey Goldberg can hack Signal makes it worse. Not a lot of thought gone into that line of defence 🤷🏻‍♂️
Mike Waltz has now decided to roll out the story that Jeffrey Goldberg somehow hacked his way into their Signal chat.

Just admitting a mistake and apologizing seems like a lot less work than lying and peddling a half dozen different conspiracies.
