A reminder that seven years ago almost to the day, the CIA determined that Mohammed Bin Salman ordered the killing of @washingtonpost.com journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

I hired and worked with Jamal for a year.

After the Brexit referendum, the Tories felt compelled to lie in order to cover up the huge con trick they’d played on the electorate. They normalized dishonesty in government. And now Labour has decided to ape them. Don’t think politics has looked this grim in my lifetime.

Very glad to see this from Tony.
The Prime Minister said in September that we are at a fork in the road. These asylum proposals suggest we have taken the wrong turning.

The idea that recognised refugees need to be deported is wrong.

The BBC is the biggest thump of soft power the UK has and its reach and influence to the benefit of the country is extraordinary. Destroy it, hugely damage the UK. The same people who helped weaken us over Brexit are seeking to do it again.
Interesting to see so many great British patriots right now begging an American president to bankrupt one of Britain’s last remaining truly national institutions.

No.
This simply isn't true.
Immigration and asylum have not broken or divided this country.
That's Farage and his filthy scumbag mates you're thinking of.
And we're really fucking sick of seeing Labour play follow my leader and let him get away with it.

This is essentially the same story told by the Panama Papers of 2016, the Paradise Papers of 2017 & the Pandora Papers of 2020.

Nearly 7TB of data on released on wealthy people, mostly men, doing terrible things at scale & facing no consequences:barely any prosecutions, miniscule # of convictions.
The Epstein story gets a something that is tearing at the heart of the electorate: elite impunity. The idea that wealthy and powerful people can do terrible things *at scale* and face no consequences for them. Whatever political party actually stops it could rule the country for a generation.

Danny Kruger claims migrant men represent a disproportionate threat to women.

FACT-CHECK:
Reform MPs are a bigger "Per Capita" threat to women and girls than ANY minority group.

I cannot see any scenario in which Labour retain power in 2029.

Net result of their 5 calamitous years will be:

- A diminished horrible inward looking country which promotes cruelty to immigrants as a virtue

- A series of half-baked half-started initiatives

- Reform government

- End of Labour

TL;dr - never has it been a happier time to be a Green activist in England or a Plaid activist in Wales. The country is being run by people seemingly determined to deliver electoral breakthroughs for both (and cement SNP dominance further).

What's this? Oh, nothing really, just a Labour Home Secretary stirring up hate.

Business as usual for the modern Labour party. Let's hope they enjoy their final 44 months in power, because after that they're done forever.

This week Nathan Gill, Reform UK’s Leader in Wales will be sentenced for 8 charges of Russian bribes.

Here’s Farage calling him an “honest, decent and honourable man”.

Let’s not forget that whilst he was taking the bribes, Farage was making similar pro-Russian speeches in the European Parliament.

Labour’s latest attack on asylum seekers is cruel & counterproductive. How does it help community cohesion to hold threat of deportation over vulnerable people? We don’t need an arms race with the hard right over asylum, we need safe routes & European cooperation #bbclaurak

It's not 'illegal migration' that is tearing this country apart.
It's nasty, cruel, uncaring rhetoric, & policies like this that are doing all the damage.
Labour might just as well walk out of No. 10 & hands the keys over to Farage.
Reform must be rubbing their hands with glee.

Still no media pursuing Farage's dodgy £800k house, nor any mention of his close mate Nathan Gill's collusion with a hostile foreign power, aka Russia, and bog all about Yusuf's latest wacko pronouncements. VERY strange, very VERY strange. One might conclude that media WANT ReFUKKK to gain power.

If we accept someone is a genuine refugee and they build a life here, perhaps have children born here, what is the advantage to us of expelling them once we’ve persuaded ourselves that their country of origin is safe?

Not only is Labour actively endorsing Reform's narrative, and emboldening hate and division while doing so, it's losing supporters hand over fist to Greens and Lib Dems in doing so. Turns out that most people who support progressive policies don't support the disgusting policies of this government.
