Non-Minnesotans, be clear on this: the *one and only* thing they do is racial profiling. The *only* thing. Ask anyone here! If you look nonwhite, Latino particularly, ICE will target you. It’s really as simple as that

I know it's easy to believe that this will do nothing to change the Trump Admin's mind, but they are VERY BAD at following the APA and having a record of thoughtful comments opposing these policies makes it more likely a judge can kill them.

He “resigned”. No explanation. No accountability. No apology. His personnel file doesn’t even mention the cases.

I would like to see more noise being made about this situation. If major league baseball players can't get into the country to do their jobs, what's going to happen for the World Cup? The Olympics?? just regular people trying to live???

Someone has sure already made this observation but the fact they can convert all those empty warehouses into prison camps means they could have converted them into housing, community centers, job training centers or, hell, libraries or schools all along. It’s always a matter of will not resources.

UPDATE: Newest DOJ/DHS effort to block congressional oversight visits to immigration detention facilities launched on Valentine's Day. It's not a new one, it's a renewal of the "because of the (latest) shutdown, there is no 527, so we can't violate 527, so there is nothing to enjoin" argument.

A lot of people seem to think Musk is adding the Irish into his accepted cultural mix. He's not. Whether he realizes it or not (maybe not), "Scots-Irish" refers to only some Irish, Scottish Protestants who settled in Ulster, and excludes the mass of Irish who were "Papist" and thus alien.
