This @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social video is absolutely INCREDIBLE. The numbers he cites, the strategy and results they produced — it’s the future. When have you heard *any* campaign talk about this, ever? (Video split in 2 to fit in Bluesky’s limits)

This matters.

The fallout will poison everyone’s life and future in the end. But it’s very clear that the poisoned arrow’s tip is aimed specifically at African-Americans.

Trump couldn’t get the Central Park Five killed so now, he’s gonna try and kill the country.
What Pam Bondi, Trump, etc are planning on doing is making it impossible for Black people to economically advance. They plan to use the legal system to re-segregate the country (the country is still incredibly segregated). That should be the headline everywhere but the newsrooms are also segregated.

So we’re going to send actual DEI truths to this email right???
Trump established an email to rat on federal workers who continue to advance equal opportunity. DEIAtruth@opm.gov. Sure would be a shame if folks misused this email address and flooded it with irrelevant things…
Trump just announced he’s ending 60 years of protections against discrimination by fed contractors and ending requirements for them to ensure equal opportunity to these good jobs. Under Trump’s theory we ended racism so now the federal gov can fund discrimination

Years ago, I did a tour of @washingtonpost.com & they talked abt how at its core it was a local paper. Yes, it covers global & national stories but with a unique lens to the area. Made me fall in love with the paper & a subscriber.

Bezos & lackeys fail to understand what makes WashPo special.

New year, commitment to post more here.

Ballot measures were a bright light in 2024 but the work doesn’t stop after we win. We must protect the will of the people and this important tool. Check out @ballotstrategy.bsky.social’s new @convergencemag.com piece!
Check out BISC's new piece in @convergencemag.com, authored by our Executive Director @cmfieldsy.bsky.social, on how #BallotMeasure organizers across the country are fighting to defend their wins as lawmakers and special interest groups try to undermine them and direct democracy at large.

Woke up from a nightmare. It was the day after the inauguration. I had to go to the US Customs building to verify my citizenship. I couldn’t remember one thing (a random doctor’s visit before I came to the US). I was detained.

Clearly I’ve internalized this fear without knowing. #ThisIsAmerica

Shoutout to the Alaska groups who fought hard to stop the RCV repeal. Another example of why it’s so important to make sure every voter is counted. #2024Elections

This is some nasty work. And on Trans Day of Remembrance no less.

Let's be clear, this isn't about restrooms at all. This is about grinding down the spirit of trans folks and erasing us from public life. It will not, can not continue. And cis folks of good conscience need to gather your folks.

Dear trans folks,

We have lived, thrived, and survived for generations without the cosign of silly politicians. And we will continue. They will never extinguish our light.

Honestly, truly, fuck anyone who tells you that you don't belong.

NYC is on fire because Eric Adams took a hatchet to the Parks Department budget, firing 51 forestry specialists who remove the dead trees and invasive species most likely to ignite during dry periods.
Eric Adams's Budget Cuts Have Set Up New York City's Parks to Burn
By cutting the exact people meant to keep the city's parks free from fallen, dead trees and keep the forests healthy, the mayor has set up a tinderbox that's already igniting.

When voters have the opportunity to defend direct democracy at the ballot, they reject politicians undermining the will of the people.

The ppl have raised wages, protected #reproductivefreedom, expanded healthcare benefits & more.

This scares the GOP. The ppl trust themselves. #peoplepower
The Arizona GOP has been chipping away at direct democracy after progressives used ballot measures to raise the minimum wage, legalize marijuana, and more. But their two latest proposals, Prop 134 and 136, were defeated last Tuesday. boltsmag.org/arizona...
Arizonans Defeat Three GOP Measures That Would Have Restricted Their Voting Power
The measures would have largely ended judicial elections and squashed future citizen-led initiatives, which progressives have used to pursue priorities like abortion access.
