I've been actively trying to mentally slow down, not work ALL the time, & keep a healthy distance from my laptop on the weekends. Not going to lie...it's hard for me. Anyway, it's upped my embroidery game, so here are some of my new pieces.

Due to some unfortunate professional hurdles, self reflection hit an all time high in 2025 and here are some of my thoughts:

✳️Experience level does not equate to self worth. Different backgrounds, training, resources, etc. come with different opportunities and that doesn't make anyone superior.

This was a fun little experiment to wrap up before the holidays! We used sediment cores to measure internal nutrient loading under oxic and anoxic conditions. Sooooo much troubleshooting went into this, so let me know if you need tips or tricks for sediment incubations.

Everywhere I turn, AI is in my face. We don't need to speed up the scientific process, including publishing. I'm worried this is a slippery slope that will remove comprehension and creativity. I understand it can be responsibly used as a tool, but I'm still having a difficult time with it.

Read for writing tips!!
This is great advice for anyone needing a productive writing break!
Are you a graduate student nearing the end of your degree? All you have left to do is write the dissertation or thesis, and you're realizing that writing for 40 hours a week is impossible. I've put together a list of tasks necessary for writing, but doesn't necessarily require as much brain power.
