Today, and every day, we stand with supporters groups across the NWSL to say - loud and clear: Trans People Belong.

In the stands, on the pitch, in our communities - everywhere.

Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and celebrated.
No exceptions.

As NWSL supporters associations representing thousands of fans across the country, we invite the NWSL and its fans to join us in taking a vocal and visible stand in support of the transgender community and against all gender-based harassment. Women’s soccer exists because society refused to accept exclusion. Our game was built through generations of struggle—for gender equity, LGBTQ+ rights, and racial justice. Efforts to exclude trans athletes are fueled by the same forces of misogyny and bigotry that have long tried to dictate who belongs. These efforts undermine the spirit of women’s sports and harm all athletes by reinforcing narrow, discriminatory ideas about gender. From the field to the stands, the LGBTQ+ community has always been a vital and visible part of the NWSL, and for many of us, women's sport is a safe haven—a place where we have found community and belonging while being our full selves. Come to an NWSL game, and you will see not just athleticism and competition, but joy and togetherness. Our league, where queer and trans kids can see themselves reflected on the field and in the stands, is proof that welcoming everyone makes us all safer. Now, as the trans community faces escalating attacks driven by harmful legislation and damaging public rhetoric, we must continue that fight by standing firmly and vocally, together, for inclusion in sports. It is on all of us to ensure that every match, every event, and every space under the league’s banner remains safe, inclusive, and free from hate—for everyone. Silence is not neutrality. Speaking out matters. Showing your support for trans athletes, and trans people, matters. Let’s work together to ensure women’s soccer continues to be a space of inclusion, safety, and joy for all.

The Black Women’s Player Collective is aware of the hateful and discriminatory comments abuse and harassment directed towards black women with our soccer community. This is unacceptable. We have listened. We are exhausted and once again, we are deeply disappointed. Nonetheless, we continue on to be clear the players at the center of these comments are sis women. However, the BWPC stands firmly in support of the trans community. The BWPC was founded to protect and uplift, black female athletes in and out of soccer, we denounce any ideology that seeks to detract from that purpose, and are exhausted by efforts to derail our access and to impact the beautiful game. As NWSL playoffs begin, our focus remains on increasing access to soccer and celebrating our community. We choose to focus on the incredible black women paving the way in our sport and our inaugural BWPPC combine for the next generation of Black soccer talent at the Allstate next wave national showcase. Sports are strongest when they every athlete is free to compete express themselves and exist authentically.

This is flatly false! Trans people with a passport that does not match with their plain appearance when presented to a border agent is subject to additional hassle compared to a cis person presenting a passport.

This case concerns an Executive Branch policy requiring all new passports to display an individual’s biological sex at birth. The United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts preliminarily enjoined the Government from enforcing the policy, and the First Circuit declined to stay the injunction pending appeal. The Government then filed this stay application. Applying our familiar stay fac- tors at this preliminary stage, we grant the application. Displaying passport holders’ sex at birth no more offends equal protection principles than displaying their country of birth—in both cases, the Government is merely attesting to a historical fact without subjecting anyone to differential treatment. And on this record, respondents have failed to establish that the Government’s choice to display biological sex “lack[s] any purpose other than a bare . . . desire to harm a politically unpopular group.” Trump v. Hawaii, 585 U. S. 667, 705 (2018) (internal quotation marks omitted). Nor are respondents likely to prevail in arguing that the State Department acted arbitrarily and capriciously by de- clining to depart from Presidential rules that Congress ex- pressly required it to follow. See 22 U. S. C. §211a.

this is where the league's tendency to #girlboss everything makes things sound so much worse. it's great to have these people connected to the game who may be able to use their influence in rooms where 'women's soccer' isn't enough, but don't tell us they'll be 'shaping the game and the culture'.

I understand (some of) the heated reaction, but ultimately this is a list of folks with very small shares in specific teams who would be good to put in a room with potential sponsors, or local officials when it's time to talk stadium/training ground.
