I know the world finds it very easy to dismiss any and everything Palestinians say (and document).

But how do you explain away the countless accounts of Israeli soldiers themselves?

Powerful reminder to make clear where I'm getting my info from - not just for my audience's sake, but for the sake of the orgs doing the investigations.

Lots of important stuff but this specific bit is INCREDIBLY important and something I hope those all us who do some form of public communications and rely on the intensely difficult work of reporting hear

Indeed this is an excellent nuanced and optimistic response to Bill Gates by @hausfath.bsky.social !
(Though admittedly less entertaining than @climateadam.bsky.social.)
It’s a good example of how to debate constructively about solving the #climatecrisis.

Really strong summary of how (and whether) to talk to people who deny climate science.

I can't begin to imagine the anguish of believing it's over. Safe. That you can maybe start to live again.

And then having a loved one taken from you.

There's this pattern of asking perfectly legit questions

(why do so many need foodstamps??)

But then having complete disinterest in the answer

(because wages and social security aren't enough for many people to *feed themselves*)
I know you’re a bodybuilder, but use your noggin this time. Nearly half of those who receive food stamps work. Of the rest, most are over 65 or disabled. Wages are too low for tens of millions, and Social Security isn’t enough for many elderly.

I am deeply concerned about the impact that Melissa will have.

And - yes - climate change is raising the risk of hurricanes like these. In myriad ways.

I'm pretty wary of this kind of analysis.

There's no suggestion that Trump's "pressure" is anything other than diplomatic.

And there's no indication that Trump won't just get bored and move on (say after the Nobel cycle).
After Israel and Hamas agreed on an earlier ceasefire in January, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu ended the truce after 42 days and resumed fighting in Gaza.

This time, however, he is under pressure from President Trump to keep the peace.
With Trump pressing for peace, Netanyahu adapts to new political reality
The Israeli military said the ceasefire went into effect midday local time. Now Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is under pressure — including from President Donald Trump — to keep the peace.

But these days, if an editor just shrugs and says the piece is great as is, no notes, I get a deep feeling of unease...
An actual hot take: Too many authors are afraid of editors watering down their voice or whatever and not afraid enough of editors letting you put any old slop on the page.
