Zoe Weissman survived the Parkland shooting. Now she’s at Brown, and it happened again.

“Honestly, I'm really angry that this is happening to me all over again, and I'm just in shock.”

It’s always interesting to be in the Star Spangled Banner flight path of M&T Bank Stadium. You inevitably have to weigh if it’s an invasion.

This week’s been a week, so I’m immersing myself in the middle-aged dad wisdom of @hodgman.bsky.social ‘s Vacationland for the fourth time.

This month’s #amrev250 prompt was a book about the 1775 smallpox outbreak. I finished @profwehrman.bsky.social ‘s Contagion of Liberty, but time ran out on a reread of Elizabeth Fenn’s Pox Americana. #booksky

O'Hara: "There's folks that are masked, they may be kidnapping people. We have had those reports. The community should know that if you see something like that, you should call 911. Let's not forget -- we very recently had tragedy in this state by someone who was purporting to be law enforcement."

I feel like this is exactly where we are. Millions of people who are either true believers or unwilling to say they’ve been conned.
Okay, here’s a comment. One of the hardest things in the world is to admit you’ve been conned.

Twitter accounts are based in Russia. BlueSky accounts are based in homes with, frankly, too many books, plants, obsolete cables, and pieces of rustic pottery, that could do with a bit of a tidying up, to be honest.

We took our kids to nice places bc 1: we wanted to make sure they could be in public places and 2: we also like to have nice experiences for ourselves as parents. I’m not stopping the clock for 10 years of my life, so you can be inconvenienced for a few minutes of yours.
I think being child free is a great choice for people who don't want children.

But honestly, I thought this was satire until I read the comments agreeing.

We spent a year investigating billionaires for @washingtonpost.com.

We found: the wealthiest 100 Americans gave $1.1 billion to influence the 2024 elections — 140x more than they did in 2000. And almost all of that giving boosted Republicans.
