It is a massive mistake to strip tens of millions of people of their health insurance. It’s an outright betrayal of what families need.

Important to understand this. There's a reasonable chance that your Dem Senator who voted against it and is acting mad now was in on the play. It's the same reason why they scheduled the surrender for AFTER the election this week. They didn't want people pissed at Dems right before an election.
The caucus meeting was just to orchestrate who would fall on the sword but not be up for a vote in 2026.
so currently defectors are:
Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)
King (2030)

Listening to these pathetic rationalizations from King, Hassan, Shaheen, whoever else they have queued up.
Disappointed that they're not having windup speech by Sen. Neville Chamberlain.

“Closer to a vote.” Is that the point? Taking a vote that means nothing? Pure performance? You call that a “win?” This disgusts me. What futility to hold out for 40 days and get NOTHING.
King: So I believe that we are closer tonight to a vote on the ACA tax credits than we were this morning. This agreement tonight is a win for the American people.

Dems in Congress have just removed the mask. Many of us already knew they were enablers of fascism, and starting tonight everyone knows. They just publicly declared that their personal access to power, comfort, etc. is more important than everyone else’s lives or well being.

Bull. This isn’t a “deal.” Even if the Senate holds a vote, it won’t get taken up in the House and won’t be signed. It’s a futile, idiotic, craven, gesture worth nothing. We need to replace these worms with people who know how to fight. I’m livid.
Shaheen: So let me be clear. No one in the senate chamber wants to extend the ACA tax credits more than I do.

The legislation would be great if there were literally ANY chance of it being heard or passed. It’s a futile gesture in a sea of futile gestures. Do something useful, the 4 walls of Congress is not your only battlefield.

Anyway a great way to radicalize people is for them to realize that you just abandoned their chance at being able to access and afford health care because you didn’t like waiting in line at the airport.

I'm looking to see not only which Senate Dem candidates oppose this surrender (all of them will) but also where they go beyond this with respect to senate leadership.
I want to see concrete promises for a new fighting Dem Party, because the current one is broken.

Ossoff, Shaheen, Booker, Durbin, and Warner will be on the ballot in 2026.
John Fetterman, Angus King, Maggie Hassan, Dick Durbin, Jon Ossoff, Jeanne Shaheen, Kirsten Gillibrand, Catherine Cortez Masto, Mark Warner, Cory Booker, and of course Chuck Schumer. Maybe others not top of mind. Not all responsible will publicly vote for the cave - that's not how this works.
