Since 1886, Lady Liberty has stood through world wars, depression, terrorism, & corruption. She is the best of us.
Despite the chaos, we owe it to the world to follow her example & stand defiant in the storm, shining a light that guides others to safety.
We must - now - more than ever.

Two months ago, Trump pardoned Honduran prez Hernandez who was convicted for 400T of coke smuggling. This weekend he replaced the spot with Maduro. The difference? Venezuela has oil, Honduras doesn’t. Afghanistan just had poppy but Iraq? they had oil! Trump & the GOP have always sought 1 thing-$$$$!
Donald Trump acknowledged that he informed oil companies about his plans to attack Venezuela and abduct its leader, despite not bothering to notify Congress.

I have noticed something odd coming from the Right recently — a change in vocabulary. They are using the word “hemisphere” rather than America. They went from “Make America Great Again” to speaking about the Americas and the Western Hemisphere.

Trump says we need to go after drug cartels.

Meanwhile, he disbanded a DOJ task force that took them on.

And he pardoned a former Honduran president convicted of drug trafficking.

Trump doesn't care about drugs — he wants to be able to declare war on anyone he labels an enemy.

It's a power grab.

Typical third world mentality
Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts.

Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

They’ve been slashing healthcare due to “waste, fraud and abuse”.

Telling people they must “prove they matter” to receive Medicaid.

Yet this man frauded the system of $1.2 billion dollars and what does he get?

A pardon!

It was never about saving money.

It’s eugenics.

The bottom half of America? It holds just 6%.

So, if govt deadlines, including those the DOJ is subject to, are meaningless for the govt, then the same meaninglessness should also apply to the deadlines the govt wants to impose on #WeThePeople, it seems to me 🤷‍♀️

So Tax Day should now only be a suggested filing date w/no penalties & interest 🤷‍♀️

In Georgia, a mom facing eviction reached out to DFCS for help. They offered her nothing. Soon the agency took her kids away because of "inadequate housing."

The state then paid *$6,200 a month* to house her kids in foster care.

One of the most important and infuriating stories I read this year:
When Families Need Housing, Georgia Will Pay for Foster Care Rather Than Provide Assistance

My main takeaway is how easy it is to catch them with the simplest follow-up, and how obvious this makes it that they're not used to being asked basic journalistic questions.
