Contrary to the contemptuous replies to this post, low vax uptake is the inevitable outcome of a multi-year campaign to minimize sickness, disability and death and force people back into work and school with no mitigations. Why would you protect yourself from something that isn't dangerous?

this is still very near and dear to me. i love what i did on twitter- maybe it didn’t do a ton, but i am proud of it. even if i do get mean sometimes.
i created a space where i have 13.2k people following me- a disabled and immunocompromised person attending grad school and working in healthcare during a pandemic.
i was able to help so many people not feel as alone

For a lot of us, losing Twitter isn’t really about losing ties to the company itself. It’s losing 10+ years of real, asynchronous communities, professional development, the ability to get gigs and clients, the ability to promo/share your art on an extremely broad scale. The loss of that has impact.

Yes, those of us in public health understand "trade offs" and it's factored in when formulating guidance.
However the term "trade offs" has been hijacked and weaponized during COVID by the rich and privileged to try and make it socially acceptable to let marginalized people suffer.
