There are people who will look at this picture and blame the bike lane for the congestion. #bikenyc
Ready for a century ride this Saturday. This is my set up.

Frame bag will contain a multitool, tpu tubes, pump, levers, master links and lots of food. Might give those TJs peanut butter stuffed pretzels a try as fuel.

Leading medical publication the British Medical Journal recognises SUVs as a danger to public health in a new editorial co-authored by T&E’s James Nix: bit.ly/4hVDlBC

Large SUVs are a danger to pedestrians, cyclists & other drivers.

It's time to take action to reduce their presence in urban areas.

Was simply riding his bike to school.
What are we doing? Seriously.
This shouldn’t happen. We don’t have to accept it.

I have three.
Gravel Bike (Surly Cross Check)
Road Bike (Ritchey Road Logic)
Touring (Centurion Pro Tour 15)

Would love a mini cargo bike at some point.

According to conservatives if NYC gets free buses, a rent freeze and no cost childcare we are done. These changes will ruin us, apparently.

Zohran Mamdani had a message for President Trump on Tuesday after his win in the New York mayoral election: "New York will remain a city of immigrants: a city built by immigrants, powered by immigrants and, as of tonight, led by an immigrant."

The few coworkers I have that drive to work are always amazed that I bike in the rain and don’t require a two ton raincoat like they do.

If you drive a vehicle I am begging you to use turn signals. I’ve both experienced and witnessed way too many close calls that could have been easily avoided if your signal was on.

Flex-posts are auto infrastructure information, not bicyclist safety infrastructure.
MDOT will "apply green paint to help motorists better identify the bike lanes and install flex-post delineators to enhance visibility and separation of the bike lanes...in proximity of the Capital Crescent Trail, a highly used hiker/biker trail that connects people to life’s opportunities."
Today at the Sarah Langenkamp Memorial Enhanced Bike Lanes on River Rd/MD190. These plastic flex posts have been up less than two weeks.

A few pics from bike rides over the past week. Prospect Park and Brooklyn Bridge Park. The Fall in NYC is magical. #BikeNYC

I honestly believe this $7k electric golf cart would solve a ton of problems in our cities. If forced to own a car again I’d choose something like this.

Agreed. There are a lot of people who feel powerless and that scares them. Their vehicle is a way to exert what little power they have over others, whether it’s other drivers, pedestrians or cyclists.
The quality of driving is so poor in this country. We’re driven to the point of insanity by the constant fear. Fear of economic collapse, societal collapse, collapse of nature, etc. it’s showing just how thin the veneer of Civilization is…

I don’t blame these trucks because they’re just doing their job. It’s all the people driving their personal vehicles that create this environment. Even the highway above is barely moving. #BikeNYC

Getting into baked potatoes recently. Maybe it’s the weather.

Rub your potato in olive oil, sprinkle with sea salt and roast on 425 on a parchment lined tray for 45 minutes or so. The skin will be crispy and the inside perfect. Vegan butter and some scallions for the perfect bite.

Shoutout to all the moms and dads in NYC who are biking or walking their kids to school every day. You are making the city a less hostile, noisy, dangerous and polluted place for your children while spending time with them.

I’ve see drivers:

-throw bags of fast food out their window
-smoking blunts/drinking
-going the wrong way on a one way street
-hit bikers (once intentionally)
-chase after a biker for touching his car
-drive with no plates
-watch movies on an iPad mounted to dashboard
-hit a guy on a motorcycle

Buy a $1000 bike and you’re a pretentious elitist, but purchase a $50,000 car or truck and you’re just a hard working member of society.

Masculinity is weird. I heard a guy at the supermarket talking about how being able to cook is a feminine pursuit, or as he put it “for girls”. Imagine being an adult man and not knowing how to make your own dinner. Be better, fellas.

✅Engine so loud I could hear him coming from four blocks away.
✅Defaced plate
✅Riding in the bike lane

Despite also having two wheels motorcycles are essentially just like cars. Like cars they are bullies on the road who use their size advantage to intimidate bikers.
