Whilst it may not solve all of the world’s problems, I think we can all agree that having more bakeries, libraries, structures with gargoyles, quaint cafés, museums, Ukraine flags, independent bookstores, and Oxford commas would be an important first step.

SHARE WIDELY.
KNOW YOUR RIGHTS.

With mass deportations starting today across the country, it is vitally important - for both citizens and non-citizens - to know your rights.

You have the right to remain silent. Assert it. You have the right to a lawyer. Ask for one.

The US now joins Iran, Libya, and Yemen as the only countries in the world not in the agreement.

Sometimes it feels wrong to share something as trivial as a couple of handmade mug rugs, with devastating fires on one side of the country and impending fascism on the other. Sewing through grief and rage doesn’t fix anything, but it settles my mind so I can deal with it a little better.

The Hegseth hearing is doing one thing incredibly well: it’s establishing that when his leadership at DoD fails, it’ll be clear that GOP Senators knew, excused it, and they own it. Serious concerns about experience & judgment are literally being laughed off.

When a terrorist attacked New Orleans, Republicans lied about immigration.
When wildfires hit Los Angeles, Republicans lied about fire dept. funding and DEI.

IT IS NOT. This is the predicted end result of fossil fuel exploitation, water hoarding, & bought politicians.

Now, insurance corps leave CA & CA private prisons use slave labor to fight these fires. Horrific.

NEW: 2024 has just been confirmed as the warmest year on record, and the first to breach the 1.5C threshold.

We used a ridgeline (Joy Division inspired) chart to visualise daily temperature anomalies since 1940.

2024 clearly stands out with 100% of its days above 1.3C and 75% above 1.5C.

In 2020, only 3.6% of the world’s population lived outside their country of birth. People only leave their homes when they're desperate.

If conservatives really care about immigration, they would focus on stopping climate change. Because that's going to cause refugee numbers to skyrocket.
