To fix her people's poor reputation, Lux must stay ahead of the queen's army and free the sealed gods. If she succeeds, the gods will calm the recent wave of natural disasters, but if she fails, she'll be labeled a traitor, and the hatred towards her kin will turn deadly.

Lux is gods-touched and hated for it—the "evil," sealed gods caused the recent wave of disasters, after all. But Lux thinks the gods are the cure. Now, she must unseal them so they can fix the damage before the queen, the true culprit, kills Lux to keep her stolen power.
