“It’s one army, Michael. How much could it cost?”
"It remains unclear how far the donation would go toward covering the salaries of the more than 1.3 million troops who make up the active-duty military.....A $130 million donation would equal about $100 a service member."

Anyway, now that the yarn and the fauxliage have been separated, I can highly recommend watching The Slumber Party Massacre while sorting out a very silly mess of your own devise.
Going through some boxes from the last move, in preparation for the next one, and if I could go back and give myself one piece of advice as I hastily packed and labeled an assortment of “crafty stuff,” it would be…don’t put fake foliage and yarn in the same box.

Between this and the attempted sour-cream-and-onion bribery in NYC, I’m going to be side-eyeing everyone’s bagged snacks and takeout containers.

Look, I know how it is. The market is absolutely saturated with intelligent sapphic steampunk horeseback-ridin' silent movie filmin' murder-solvin' action comedies that wear their hearts on their sleeves... oh wait. No it isn't. This is the only one. Grab it!
It's Thursday afternoon, and it's time to remind you once more that Angel Maker, the raucous Sapphic steampunk sequel to 2015's cult classic Karen Memory, is OUT NOW.

I used to live less than a block from Venice Blvd., which the choppers use for navigation. It was a couple of years after I left LA before I didn’t flinch every time I heard a helicopter.
LAPD choppers are a malignant nuisance. They're harbingers of surveillance, operated *continuously*—yet the city's own data show they raise stress, impair cognition and burn 100,000s of gallons of gas. The best part? there's no evidence they deter or reduce crime at all.
It's time to ground them.
It's time to ground them.
Ground the choppers
The LAPD's helicopter mania is both a policy disaster and a symbol of our malignant, badly functioning surveillance state.

Want to see the bottom of the ocean? Deep-sea explorer Katy Croff Bell has a tool for that.
We know next to nothing about 99.999 percent of the seafloor. How one researcher plans to democratize deep-sea exploration.

World Athletics’ mandatory genetic test for women athletes is misguided. I should know – I discovered the relevant gene in 1990
World Athletics says its genetic test for women ensures ‘the integrity of women’s sport’ – but science does not support this overly simplistic idea.
