FUN FACT: "St. Elsewhere" was set in a hospital in my neighborhood near Blackstone Park, not far from Boston City Hospital called St. Eligius. It starred a young Denzel Washington, Alfre Woodard & Eric Laneuville in a teaching hospital with limited resources in one of Boston's Black neighborhoods.
NBC medical dramedy "St. Elsewhere," which demonstrated the importance of the adult 18-49 demographic, opened its six-season run on this day in 1982. The ensemble cast included William Daniels, Ed Flanders, Denzel Washington, Howie Mandel, Ed Begley, Jr., Mark Harmon, David Morse and Norman Lloyd.
